MY REVIEW:
'Handle With Care' is probably the first Jodi Picoult book that I've read in a long, long time. I must confess that I'm a fan of most of her works, especially 'My Sister's Keeper' and 'Mercy', both which I thought were absolutely rivetting.
'Handle With Care' is beautifully written, although I must say, at the beginning, I did have some reservations about it because it's plot seemed very similar to that of 'My Sister's Keeper'. Same kid with some illness (albeit different illnesses), same scenario, same parents - or at least it seemed that way.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book because I can wax lyrical about it for hours.
In many ways, it mirrors 'My Sister's Keeper', yet it has its own charm.
I liked the way Ms. Picoult delved into Amelia's character, and Amelia has to be my favourite character in this book; and the way she portrayed Sean and Charlotte was skillfully done. And then there is Willow, with her own charm and the useless information that she possesses. Willow, in my opinion, is nearly the perfect child, if not for the fact that she suffers from OI.
Most of all, I enjoyed the way the entire story seemed to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, with all the pieces skillfully interconnected and fit together perfectly.
It's a must read, that's for sure.
